Choosing flowers should be one of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. Never fear ladies, we’ve got your back—follow these three tips to the start your search for the perfect wedding blooms!

1. Search for Experience

When meeting with florists be sure to ask if she or he has ever worked in your ceremony/reception space. If so they may have photos of arrangements done at your site and will know what sizes, shapes, and colors work best in the space. If not, don’t worry! There is a first time for everyone and everything—but you should make sure that your florist is willing to scope out your site(s) and familiarize themselves with any limitations.

2. Color-Coordinate

When picking a palette, make sure the flowers will suit your wedding vibe and colors. After purchasing your bridesmaid gowns at Charlotte’s ask your consultant for a fabric swatch from the dress so you can bring it when you meet your florist—this will give him or her a good starting point.

3. Mind Mother Nature

Considering the season when choosing your flowers won’t only be easier on the piggy bank, but it will also ensure that your blooms stay beautiful! If you are getting married during the hot summer months, or even just outside where the elements can come into play, you’ll need hearty flowers that will last.
